# Visdom Context Fabric

The organisational knowledge layer for AI coding agents.

Context Fabric manages and exposes **slow-moving, general project context** for coding agents: architectural information, organisational standards, context derived from documentation, PRs and issue trackers, tribal knowledge, repository responsibilities and infrastructural detail.

It deliberately does **not** do semantic, on-line indexing of code. That is best served by tools sitting right next to the agent, where the current, uncommitted changes are.

Context reaches the agent two ways:

* **upfront**: an `AGENTS.md` fragment referenced from the agent's system prompt
* **on demand**: MCP servers, plus a shared filesystem mount where one is available

Most of the interaction is the agent's. A person configures the modules once, per project, and then reads the results when something looks wrong.

Within the Visdom platform this is the layer the other components read from. The Orchestrator runs agents against it, and code review or testing without it is review without memory.
